The Opportunity

At GWW, we are committed to creating exceptional experiences for our people and achieving excellence in all that we do. As the Manager of People Operations, you will oversee a team that serves as the front door to People Services. Reporting directly to the Head of People Services, you will play a key role in shaping systems and payroll operations, ensuring they are seamless, timely, and aligned with GWW's strategic objectives.

 

In this role, you’ll take charge of a wide range of critical functions, including first-line HR support, payroll, HRIS system management, People Analytics, and reporting. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your

leadership expertise to enhance GWW’s People Operations and drive further innovation in our processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring optimal service delivery and consistent outcomes.
  • Use your problem-solving mindset to implement continuous improvement, streamline processes, and foster a culture of service excellence.
  • Map out workflows, optimizing a tiered service model that enhances both self-service and assisted service capabilities.
  • Guide, mentor, and support your team, while managing escalations and participating in key people-related projects such as HRIS system updates and organizational redesign.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities and the use of existing systems like SuccessFactors, Appian, and ServiceNow to better serve leaders and teams.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven ability to drive efficiency and continuous improvement in an operations leadership role, with experience in mapping, optimizing, and streamlining processes.
  • Strong background in HRIS system management, particularly with tools such as Payglobal and SuccessFactors, both of which are integral to Greater Western Water.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering a culture of innovation within an operational context, leveraging creative thinking to enhance service delivery and team performance.
  • A history of successfully implementing continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and automation, improving both team productivity and business outcomes.
  • Effective leadership experience, including the ability to coach, guide, and inspire teams through periods of change or transformation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, paired with excellent reporting and communication skills, to ensure seamless operations and clear stakeholder engagement.
  • Extensive experience steering operations teams, particularly within or outside HR functions, with a keen focus on governance and managing service level agreements (SLAs).
