Our water group has secured multiple long term framework contracts and significant career defining major projects with key water authority clients across Australia and locally in South-East Queensland.  This has created a great opportunity for experienced Electrical Engineers to join our team.

About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our thriving Brisbane office to research, develop, and design electrical equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects in our Water Division. You will work under the general direction of a Senior Engineer and be responsible for small projects or parts of projects requiring a sound knowledge of electrical engineering.

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for:

·       Perform electrical engineering design which includes modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects.

·    Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software

·     Contribute to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

·    Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.

·       Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.

·       Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.

·       Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.

·       Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

·       Be available for on site visits or project commissioning as required from time to time

·       Be stationed in a client environment on small secondment when required

·       Recognize and champion safe working practices in electrical industry

 

To be successful for this role you'll present:

·       Tertiary Qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical.

·       Between 6 to 10 years’ experience in a similar position with well-rounded experience in on Water and Wastewater projects.

·       Knowledge and experience in LV and MV power systems in Australia.

·       Experience with CAD and power engineering software tools.

·       Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.

·       Be working towards or have achieved CPEng and RPEQ status.

·       Be willing to offer mentorship to junior engineers based on appropriate level of knowledge
