At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

A Principal Engineer is responsible for providing consultancy services in the Water Infrastructure market across the ANZ region. The role will be responsible for project delivery, client relationship management, and technical leadership throughout ANZ.  The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, operational management, sales and technical leaders to create strategies, pursue opportunities and to plan, develop and deliver a range of projects to achieve successful technical and commercial outcomes.

The role will support the management of the NSW Water Infrastructure Section and the wider ANZ water group in terms of team development, mentoring and growth, building technical capability and growing the water infrastructure portfolio.

You will be a technical and project lead for water infrastructure design projects, as well as providing technical guidance on large strategic consulting and planning projects.  You will keep abreast of new methods, technologies and developments impacting the industry, Jacobs and our clients in order to contribute to the strategic direction of the group. You will facilitate Jacobs in maintaining a competitive advantage by identifying strategic pursuits and applying the latest technical developments in project delivery. #JacobsWaterANZ

Here's what you'll need

You will drive business development and be responsible for work winning activities including client engagement, opportunity ‘go no go’ assessments, supporting bids and proposals and commercial negotiations. Through regular industry participation you will maintain and grow strong client relationships, identify emerging opportunities, act as a trusted advisor to a select group of key clients and represent the Water Infrastructure team at thought leadership events.

You will help maintain compliance with Jacobs QA/QC procedures, including deliverable reviews, commercial reviews and contractual administration.  You will facilitate the technical development of less senior personnel to meet market requirements and engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.

With an uncompromising approach to safety and welfare, you will lead and support safety initiatives and drive Jacobs Beyond Zero culture of caring and implement Jacobs shared values.

You will support the Jacobs water group to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationship building and work sharing in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.
