About the role:
As a member of the Metering Services team, the Senior Metering Services Officer will contribute directly to the Customer Experience strategic and operational activities.  This position will be accountable for supporting the Metering Services team in day to day processing, solving complex billing issues and supporting the Metering Services Manager to drive improvements
  
This role will support Metering Services functions and controls through changed or improved business processes, the introduction of new policies, new procedures or new technology. Key accountabilities will include:
  • Simultaneous management of operational BAU and one-off analysis and making recommendations to Customer and Community Leaders on enhancements to processes, systems, work practices and business rules.
  • Manage and develop initiatives to ensure smooth transition to digital meter technology and smart billing, as well as all relevant legislative requirements and our policies.
  • Review, analysis, design and implementation of service delivery models, systems and processes to identify opportunities to deliver improved business and customer outcomes.
  • Analysis and documentation of as-is and to-be business processes and work practices with translation of improvements into process and system requirements, ensuring that these solutions are aligned with the organisation’s strategic directions.
  • Lead the introduction or transition of new revenue functions into BAU tasks, for example where new functions result from the introduction of new products or services to Unitywater (eg digital revenue channels).
  
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role: 
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate and interpret problems and solutions to business users.
  • Proven experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Microsoft Excel. A sound knowledge of Microsoft Access, SQL and Unify and business practices, or ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge is required.
  • Extensive experience in metered billing at a support level within a Utility or similar business model.U
  • Understanding of or ability to quickly acquire an understanding of alarm management technologies and processes.
  • High level of experience in researching, analysing, documenting and implementing new or improved business processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify revenue control points and possible leakage points.
  • Well-developed relationship management and communication skills with the ability to cultivate positive and collaborative working relationships and foster an innovative and service-focussed culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the maintenance and improvement of business processes and systems through service improvement initiatives, preferably in a utilities or other customer service focussed environment.
  • Ability to communicate changes and new technologies to other Metering Services Officers (training)
  • Highly developed written and verbal presentation skills.
