About the role:
As the Infrastructure Advisory Lead, you will be responsible for providing commercial, economic, and strategic advice to facilitate the delivery of water infrastructure agreements, policy, and business planning for major developments in our region to ensure we can deliver for our customers. Providing advice on Water Infrastructure Agreements, Legislation and Policy, you will engage with stakeholders to inform design decisions and outcomes in accordance with industry and Unitywater standards and to Unitywater’s strategic planning and provision of development services. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
· Lead and influence the negotiating terms and conditions of water infrastructure agreements to mitigate financial risk while providing reasonable terms for timely progression of planned development.
· Manage the development and delivery of Board papers and required documentation and advise of risks arising from development of land outside the current Unitywater Future Connections Area.
· Contribute to the engineering and planning of required infrastructure.
· Contribute to the business cases that underpin project investment, including the development of required financial modelling.
· Assessing and preparing submissions for future and existing Planning Schemes in respect of proposed or planned development and supporting in the processing of connection applications.
· Liaise with developers and assisting with the provision of responses and reports to State regulators.
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
· Engineering degree (ideally Civil or Environmental), with experience in utilities or an infrastructure environment, and a focus on development management and asset planning.
· An understanding of development management for large scale infrastructure projects, and exposure to the water industry regulatory environment.
· The ability to identify where technical, social or commercial processes need improvement and implement what is required to ensure outcomes are delivered.
· Strong interpersonal skills including consultancy and negotiation, with a strong focus on internal and external stakeholder engagement.
