What you do

The Pursuits Manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to support the growth of the organisation primarily across the South-East (S&E) of Australia – ACT, NSW, SA, VIC and TAS. This role involves tracking and reporting on the S&E Growth Strategy, developing strategies to increase revenue, supporting relationship-building with key stakeholders, and overseeing the preparation of proposals.

We are seeking a proactive, solutions-focused individual, preferably with exposure to large government projects. You will support our client management activities and how we promote and maintain client relationships at all levels. 

As a Pursuits Manager, you will:

• Support the implementation of Sequana’s Growth Strategy, primarily in South-East Australia. 
• Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships to facilitate information exchange, resource sharing, and joint initiatives. 
• Report progress against the South-East Growth Strategy by working closely with relevant teams.
• Identify and convert growth opportunities.
• Coordinate the preparation, review and submission of proposals.
• Maintain document control using Sequana systems and processes.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with new business opportunities.
• Identify improvements and implement solutions.
• Ensure the changes arising from the implementation of new strategies, policies/procedures, and initiatives are effectively applied.
• Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the organisation.
• Identify and support engagement with key stakeholders in the water, environment and energy sectors, including government agencies, water utilities, private businesses, research institutions, environmental groups, and community organisations. 

Who you are

Candidates should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a Pursuits or Business Development position within the water, environment or energy sectors, with a total of 8 + years industry experience.
• Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of functions whilst maintaining a focus on critical issues.
• Self-driven and competitive, you enjoy identifying and converting new leads.
• Strong understanding of the water, environment or energy sectors, including market trends and industry dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyse complex data, trends, and policies related to water management.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to perform under time pressure whilst providing high-quality outcomes in every aspect of work.
• Proven commercial acumen including contractual management, tendering, legal and procurement activities.
