About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Scheduling, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio. As the Job Plan Lead you will be responsible for: the delivery planning and safe execution of all maintenance and minor capital field work across Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage, Waterways and Catchments for Melbourne Water.  This role will be accountable for facilitating and ensuring the delivery of accurate, efficient and effective Job Plans.

  • Working closely with Melbourne Water’s asset teams, delivery teams and maintenance service providers to uplift Job Plans associated with built and natural assets. 
  • Auditing, monitoring and reporting on performance compared with Job Plans and leading the team in continuous improvement across the program. 
  • Identifying and implementing cost efficiency opportunities developed through review processes. 
  • Working across teams to assist in the development and monitor the implementation of maintenance budgets associated with the maintenance service provider(s).  
  • Help to foster a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
  • A valid Driver’s Licence is required as this role requires occasional travel.

About you:

  • You have substantial knowledge and experience in the delivery of maintenance practices (Natural and Built).  
  • Demonstrated experience managing and influencing key stakeholders (internal and external) and can lead change both within your team and other teams in the organisation. 
  • You are able to lead a team of job plan developers and inspire them through role modelling of values, mind-sets and habits to bring to life our desired culture.  
  • Have a relevant trade or tertiary qualification with significant industry experience Professional Leadership mind-set and behaviour.  
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of maintenance and/or technical writing.  
  • High energy to take action and drive business results. 

This is a full-time role primarily based from Brooklyn Pumping Station, Brooklyn. You will be required on occasions to travel to other Melbourne Water locations and will have access to an operational Pool vehicle.

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck.  This role is deemed critical and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
